Artist Statement

Jewelry design and creating is my passion. I love every aspect of it, from coming up with a design to wrapping up a purchase. Whether it's a gift for a friend or a treat to yourself, each piece is made with love, and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy making it.   The enamels I use are called vitreous enamels. The colors are permanent and will not fade or change over time. Vitreous means glass, the enamels start out as tiny grains of glass. The grains bond to their metal base under very high heat. I either sift the enamels or use a small paint brush to place them on the metal backing. Then the piece is heated in my kiln at around 1400° F, which melts the glass particles and bonds the glass to the metal. Some of the pieces that you see in my shop have been in the kiln as many as 20 times!   I make and sell handmade unique jewelry that will add beauty to any outfit. My work includes handcrafted enamel jewelry, sifted enamels, cloisonne enamels, sterling silver and copper rings, earrings and necklaces.   My studio is in Westchester, NY.  I show my jewelry at Fine Art & Craft shows. Take a look at my website for my latest show schedule. http://jewelrybylanni.com
