After many years as a decorative artisan working with designers and architects creating murals and fine finishes in homes and hospitals, my work is now once again focused on exploring fine art painting. This lifelong journey began with a purple crayon drawing in Kindergarten (no Purple Crayon book ensued). A fascination with portraying objects began, with an attempt to capture the color, light and expression that continues to this day.
Representational art evolved into mixed-media and encaustic work, and then back again to a study of classical technique and figurative art. At this point my work includes a combination of representation and abstraction, including the use of non-art materials and an effort to blur the line between the two.
A current fascination is the obsession with (our own) reflection -once the province of the ultra wealthy who could afford reflective accessories - and how that causes us to manipulate perceptions of our reflections via physical, mechanical, surgical methods and social media.
My goal is to share my lifelong love of art, color light and the ways in which our portrayals of these elements impact the quality of our daily lives via dissemination of access. Both my own work and the teaching and outreach I do are an effort to share art usually restricted to affluent patrons having leisure to purchase and enjoy it (portraits, murals) with a wider population.

EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH & TEACHING EXPERIENCE Rehabilitation Through the Arts, Teaching Artist, Created and implemented Mural Panel project at maximum security facility. Public unveiling to take place in conjunction with RTA theatrical production in June, 2020 CITYarts, Inc. New York, NY, Teaching Artist, JASA Club 76 Mural Project Teaching Artist working with adults creating Pieces for Peace, small mixed media works on paper, and a mural panel presentation which included public recognition and local political supporters. Doing Art Together, Inc., New York, NY Program Director/Coordinator and Artist/EducatorArtist/Educator: Worked with ReStart NYC Public School program at St. Luke’s Hospital. Designed curriculum, collaborated with classroom teachers to incorporate regular school curriculum into hands-on Arts Program. Helped restore strained partnerships of this decades old provider of hands-on arts education programs in New York City Title 1 Public Schools and Alternative Education facilities. Secured $175,000 in funding from Grants, DOE and BOE, a 100% success rate Hearts for Heroes, Inc., Bedford, NY, Program Director/Collaborative Arts Specialist: Created Collaborative Arts Outreach Program. Sourced venues and supervised Program Execution for all H4H Canine and Equine. programs Successfully solicited in kind contributions from large corporations, local businesses and foundations. Ossining High School, Ossining, NY, Artist in Residence/Collaborative Mural Program: Created 450 square foot, three-wall mural. Included teaching of 125 High School Students per day over the course of ten school days. Collaborated with Art and Music Teachers on subject matter, research and design. JCCA Pleasantville Cottage School, Pleasantville, NY, Collaborative Mural Program: Designed custom Collaborative Arts program for PCS. Facilitated and supervised students’ creation of multiple interior mural panels with slide shows and Final Exhibition/Celebration for all projects in collaboration with clinicians. Director of Health Services commissioned additional murals. Coordinated with Clinical Staff and Director of Therapeutic Arts Program. Jacobi Medical Center, Bronx NY; Artist in Residence, Collaborative Mural Program: Created customized Collaborative Arts program with Aids-impacted youth in conjunction with clinicians: facilitated completion of whole-room mural executed by students; designed, executed and published a Photo Book and slide show, with photos done by participating students. Collaborated with Director of Research, Clinical Supervisors, and Clinical Staff. Todd School, Briarcliff Manor, NY, Artist in Residence, Created curriculum, After school hands-on Art Programs K-7, Taught grade-appropriate hands-on art workshops in After-School Program with Fourth and Fifth Grade Students. John & Paul School, Larchmont, NY, Artist in Residence, Created, designed and taught age/grade appropriate hands-on art workshops in After-School Program with Kindergarten and First Grade students. Make-A-Wish Foundation, Tarrytown, NY, Artist in Residence, Designed, executed and installed mural panels in homes of critically ill children in collaboration with Interior Designers. Designed and executed 15’ x 30’ ceiling mural and artistic enhancements at Make-a-Wish regional headquarters in Tarrytown, NY. White Plains Hospital Center, WP, NY, Artist in Residence, Designed, created & installed Mural Panels in Pediatric Waiting Area, for opening of newly constructed Emergency Center, White Plains Hospital, White Plains, NY West End Collegiate School, Nursery School Art Educator, NY, NY West End Collegiate Nursery School, NY, NY, Artist/Educator Taught Three and Four year olds; process-oriented Arts Education Program in coordination with Classroom Teachers, using current classroom subject matter as basis for lesson plans.
