Artist Statement
Historicaly and traditionaly women have almost always been the subjects of art but very rarely the masters of the media in which they are depicted in. Woman as the artist appears to still be a bit of a novelty act to many in the art world. Â Often relegated to fame only through teaching the lighter/cuter side of art. (Bob Ross and Gary Spetz vs. Donna Dewberry and Susan Schewee). My artwork I hope reflects my own personal feelings of these issues while exploring the mythos of femininity. By mixing the myths along with the facts somewhere in between I hope to find the definitive truth in it all.
