Artist Statement

My work tends to be dark. This is not to say that my work is morbid, it is simply dark. Sometimes the darkness is expressed by weak sources of light, while other times it can mean that the piece caters to my dark sense of humor. My work also contains repetition. The process of taking ordinary images and making them into art intrigues me. It forces me to look at the world in a different way. Rather than staring blissfully at an object, I often rearrange it's components in my head to create my own skewed version of reality.
