Artist Statement
Don Fortenberry was born in western North Carolina, and moved to New York City in 1977. Don holds a Masters in Fine Arts degree from Brooklyn College, and a Bachelors in Fine Arts from The Maryland Institute, College of Art. His paintings are in various corporate and private collections. His exhibitions include galleries in New York City, colleges and museums. His abstractions make use of specific properties of paint on canvas. Color, texture, and mass combine in a whole that is greater then its parts. Donald Fortenberry lives and works in northern Westchester. Prices are available upon request.
