Artist Statement

She has worked in a variety of media and formats, most recently including painting, drawing and installation. Ms. de Gennaro has exhibited her work in museums and galleries nationally including A.I.R. Gallery (New York, NY), ARC Gallery (Chicago, IL), Nexus Contemporary Art Center (Atlanta, GA), Portland Art Museum (Portland, OR), Dallas Museum of Art (Dallas, TX), San Antonio Museum of Art (San Antonio, TX), Southern Exposure Gallery (San Francisco, CA), The Women's Building (Los Angeles, CA), and the Center on Contemporary Art (Seattle, WA). She has received numerous grants from national and state institutions including the National Endowment for the Arts.  She is an Associate Professor of Art at the College of New Rochelle, New Rochelle, NY where she has taught since 1996.

Educational Background

Cristina de Gennaro received an M.F.A. in Painting from Stanford University, an M.A. in Aesthetics and a B.A. in Art and Performance from the University of Texas, Dallas.
