Oratorio Society’s Upcoming Season to Feature Bach, Handel and Mozart

Westchester Oratorio Society begins rehearsals September 3, 2019 at the Katonah Village Library in preparation for the group’s 2019-2020 Season, its thirteenth under the baton of Artistic Director, Benjamin Niemczyk. On Saturday evening November 23, 2019 the Society will present a concert entitled “Meeting the Masters” at Presbyterian Church of Mount Kisco featuring J.S. Bach’s “Sanctus” (BWV 238), “Cantata” (BWV 36) and “Cantata” (BWV 62), and W.A. Mozart’s “Veni Sancte” (K 47), “Regina Coeli” (K 276) and “Verum Corpus” (K 618).
Sunday evening, December 8 WOS will return to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Somers, NY to present a “Scratch” “Messiah” (sing-along with professional soloists). The group’s Spring Concert on Sunday afternoon May 3, 2020 will feature Bach’s “Mass in B minor.”

Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 PM to 9:15 PM in the Library’s Garden Room, located at 26 Bedford Road, a short walk from the Metro-North station. The group will hold “open rehearsals” throughout September. Competent singers in all voice parts are welcome.
