Master Watercolorist Charles Reid

Mount Kisco, NY – KAC is honored to have Master Watercolorist Charles Reid facilitating a two-day workshop, The Figure in Watercolor, Saturday April 6 & Sunday April 7, 2019  from 9:30 – 4:00 PM.  Mr. Reid will demonstrate each morning and students will have the opportunity to work from the model in the afternoon.

Charles is proficient at contour drawing and teaches how to concentrate on interconnecting shapes rather than drawing separate objects. He is a master of the medium of watercolor and his paintings are fresh and spontaneous, displaying his profound understanding of light and color. His figures are
beautifully rendered, in a simple, gestural manner.

As an artist, teacher and author, Mr. Reid is renown throughout the United States and Europe. He teaches watercolor and oil painting workshops focusing on portraits, figures, landscapes and still life. He has written eleven books as well as instructional videos including
Charles Reid’s Watercolor  Secrets  and Charles Reid’s Watercolor Solutions. Mr. Reid was born in Cambridge, NY and studied art at the University of Verm

ont in Montpelier and The Art Students League in NY. The following are some of his awards: The Chide Hasam Purchase Prize at the American Academy of Arts and
Letters, Purchase Award from Shanghai International Biennial Exhibition in 2013 and the Gold Medal from the Portrait Society of America in 2013.
