Jim Maciel’s art history and background goes back to 1966 when he focused on studying art from a small college located in New Bedford, MA.

In 1975, he moved to NYC as a VIST Volunteer.  New York gave Jim the inspiration and motivation to start showing his work to the public.  He was a member of the Ward Nasse Gallery from 1980 to 1984.

After moving to Westchester in 1978, he began showing his work in local galleries. These include  Irvington, Harrison, Mt Kisco, Larchmont and Bronxville libraries as well as the Hudson River Museum.

Jim is a proud member of the Mamaroneck Artists Guild, an artists’ co-op located in Larchmont, NY.

His process is executed by working from photos that he has taken of old buildings and barns on his back road travels.

The paintings in his solo show are Sumi ink and Watercolor on Watercolor paper.

Gallery hours are Tuesday – Saturday, noon – 5pm.
