Anderson Chase Gallery is very excited to present a Solo show with Joanne Orce. Joanne loves to paint oil on Belgian linen on large canvases, 3’ to 6’ or larger. She prepares her canvas just like the old masters used to, stretching the linen and preparing the surface to develop a character of its own that will stand the test of time.

Her most recent body of work depicts large American wildlife such as moose, elk and bison, in a free and uninhibited painterly style. To balance her love for the outdoors she also loves to paint the iconic underground mosaic art of the New York City subway. Joanne is drawn to the vibrant color, liveliness and dramatic perspective of stairways, tunnels, beams and signage. Joanne also paints classic Adirondack scenes like Whiteface Mountain for Gallery46 in Lake Placid, NY.

Joanne has a Bachelor of Commerce(Honors) degree from the University of Melbourne, Australia. She also has an Associates Degree in Illustration from Pratt (Manhattan). Joanne has studied painting and drawing at The New School (NYC) and the School of Visual Arts (NYC) and is an active local member of Katonah Art Center, Garrison Art Centre and Ossining Arts Council.

She has had Solo Shows at Katonah Art Center, Ossining Public Library, Good Choice Kitchen and Moonbean Café. She has also participated in Group Shows at Thompson Giroux Gallery and Katonah Art Center and Auctions at Garrison Art Center and Shattemuc Yacht Club.
