Hudson Valley MOCA Reopening and Remote Events

We opened our doors in March 2004 and have, for over 16 years, serviced the community of Peekskill, the surrounding region and the greater arts community, nationally and internationally. We have launched over 80 art exhibitions, six major art festivals, and a myriad of education programs.

With the current closure some long delayed construction and repair projects are now in process. Pending their completion HVMOCA will remain closed.

We will reopen, by appointment, on September 15, 2020, with an expanded exhibition of How We Live, introducing two-dimensional works to the dialogue.

Portfolio Review Day, delayed due to the pandemic closures, will be rescheduled after September 15th.

In the interim, we hope that our members, friends and supporters continue to enjoy our online offerings:

  • A virtual tour of How We Live, done in collaboration with Eazle
  • Our Art and Education Hike through the Peekskill Waterfront Sculpture Trail and Beyond
  • Climbing the Walls, artists responses to the pandemic through the visual, musical and performing arts, done in collaboration with Studio Theatre in Exile.
  • Writing the Walls, original poetry in response to the art works in How We Live, a virtual reading and viewing of works in the exhibition that inspire the words of the poets, a 14-year collaboration between HVMOCA and Mara Mills, Director Studio Theater in Exile.
