You’ve Got a Friend: The Music of the Brill Building

The White Plains Performing Arts Center presents You’ve Got a Friend: The Music of the Brill Building on Friday, June 7th at 8:00 pm. You’ve Got a Friend features the music of Carole King and Neil Sedaka that was composed, recorded and produced in NYC’s famed Brill Building in Times Square.

From the halls and offices of The Brill Building at 1619 Broadway, came the sound of America in the 50s and 60s, changing the sound of popular music and becoming some of the most iconic pop songs of all time. Songs born in the Brill Building are considered by many to be the greatest music ever written. The Brill Building was home to Carole King, Neil Sedaka, Bobby Darin, Johnny Mercer, Lieber & Stoller, Neil Diamond, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weill, among others.

Award winning vocalist Scott Coulter takes you on a journey into the music and the stories of the singers and the songs that defined a generation. Iconic songs to be featured include, “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do,” “Natural Woman,” “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin,” and “Love Will Keep Us Together.”
