Write, Write, Write!: A Fiction Workshop for Teens with Tina Tocco (via Zoom)

We’re happy to present another installment in this writing series for teens! Returning students are welcomed back for new prompts and new discussion. New students are encouraged to join Tina’s fun and engaging classes at any time.

Do you love to write fiction? Would you like to generate new work week after week? Would it be helpful to get feedback from other teens who love and understand writing just as much as you?

In this five-week workshop, you’ll use all sorts of prompts to create new stories. There’s no right or wrong here, just the fun of diving into a world of words. You’ll receive positive feedback, so you can take what you produce in class and confidently improve your creative writing outside of class, both for your own projects and in school. We’ll also talk about the writing process, books, and any other word-related things that come into your mind. No judgment. No homework. Just writing.

This workshop will be taught via Zoom. The Zoom link will be emailed at the time of registration. (Please check spam / promotions filters.) Please email admin@writerscenter.org with any questions.

Tina Tocco is a Pushcart Prize nominee. A writer for both adults and young readers, Tina’s work has appeared in many publications, including Highlights, Cricket, Humpty Dumpty, Turtle, Crab Creek Review, and Italian Americana. Her work has been featured in various anthologies, such as The Best Small Fictions 2019 and Best Nonfiction Food (2020), and will soon appear in the middle-grade ghost story anthology Haunted States of America (Macmillan Publishing Group). Tina earned her MFA in creative writing from Manhattanville College, where she was editor-in-chief of Inkwell, the college’s national literary journal. She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She teaches for Kids Short Story Connection (Greenburgh), Arts Escape (Connecticut), GrubStreet (Massachusetts), Hugo House (Washington), and other organizations.

The workshop will run on five Sundays between January 29 – March 5, from 1-3 pm EST. Class will not meet on February 19 for President’s Day weekend.
