Join us as we come together to kick off a month-long series of Juneteenth activities around Westchester and Rockland Counties! The program features a keynote talk by esteemed urban anthropologist Dr. Sherrill Wilson and reenactment of Harriet Tubman by Alvenia Smith, as well as music and dance performances by regional artists, including Baba Abishai, Selah Armstrong, Shirazette Tinnin, Minister Angel Hill Brooks, and more.
Organized by White Plains Juneteenth Heritage Inc., ArtsWestchester, Peekskill Juneteenth Heritage, the Yonkers African American Heritage Committee, the Haverstraw African American Connection, and the Juneteenth Committees/Councils of Ardsley, Bedford, Greenburgh, Irvington, Mamaroneck, Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, Ossining and Pelham.
