Free Instrument-making Workshop and Piedmont Blues Performance

A new Traditional Blues Folk Art event comes to Pelham Art Center on Saturday, June 4, 2016 with an all-ages hands-on workshop instrument making workshop and live blues performance by the Piedmont Bluz acoustic duo. All for FREE!

From 2:00 – 4:00PM, teaching artist Christopher Faroe will lead a hands-on instrument-making workshop for all ages. From 2:30-3:30PM The husband and wife team known as the Piedmont Bluz acoustic duo will tickle your ears with delightful music, while they weave a bit of history into the presentation of each song. As part of our Folk Arts Series, this event is free and open to all ages.

About the Bluz Duo and Traditional Piedmont Blues

The Piedmont Bluz acoustic duo is dedicated to the preservation of Country Blues in the Piedmont style and their mission is to help keep this rural, east coast tradition alive by educating audiences about this unique aspect of African American culture through musical entertainment. They are much loved wherever they go and feel that “there are stories to tell, people to remember, and things that must be said.”
