“Through the Looking Glass”

Photographs by Edgemont teen, Emma Shifren.

In this series, Emma focuses mainly on light, and the reflections that are created when light hits glass. The photos, taken with a Nikon D3000 camera, were created for her Photography 2 class at Edgemont High School, where she is now a senior.
“I love the freedom photography gives me to choose any subject and shed a more interesting and creative light on it,” says Emma. “I was drawn to the arts when I was little, and focused primarily on painting and drawing. When I was introduced to photography, it became something I was very passionate about. I have become more attentive to detail and can now find beauty in things that before seemed insignificant. Photography is a hobby I plan to continue throughout my life.
