The Swamp Donkeys Return to Alvin & Friends

Get ready for a rollicking good time: On Wednesday, January 7th The Swamp Donkeys return to Alvin & Friends for their only Westchester appearance this season. The Swamp Donkeys play traditional jazz, blues, jass originals, vaudeville, modern jazz adaptations, and many other jazz and New Orleans-derived styles. Rooted in the authentic, New Orleans, grassroots music scene, the Swamp Donkeys have an enormously accessible sound, with their frontmen, Louis Armstrong sound- alike James Williams, and the audience-wooing, banjo-strumming New Rochelle native Sam Friend. The Swamp Donkeys played to adoring crowds at JazzFest 2014, and have played sold out shows at the Blue Note in New York City and other prestigious venues across the United States. They also caused a sensation last summer when their jazzy version of the theme from “Game of Thrones” went viral.
