The Rejuvenary River Circus

Experience a performance by Arm of the Sea Theater that fuses live music and visual storytelling in a contemporary work of mask and puppet theater about the life cycle of a river. The Rejuvenary River Circus is an allegorical tale that follows Malakai, the water carrier and messenger, as he travels between Mountain Peaks and the Deep Blue Sea. Along his journeys Malakai encounters a host of creatures, each of which offers insights into their particular role in a watershed’s ecosystem services. The production features more than three dozen mask and puppet characters, live music, and a colorful hand-printed bio-morphic set design. Following the show, the performers will provide a close-up look at the characters, demonstrate their techniques, and answer questions about the play.
