The Eternal City of Rome: Roads and Arches

Romans are also known for their great road constructions and outstanding arches. They built roads everywhere they conquered. The extensive road system enabled its armies and citizens to go from Western Europe to Greece without ever leaving a Roman road, and these amazing constructions have lasted over 2,000 years, with many still in use today. Roman arches were used in many of Roman architecture, like the Colosseum and aqueducts. Some arches were made to honor and remember special people in Roman history. Learn more about these impressive roads and arches constructions and take a closer look at how they were built. Presented by Toni McKeen. Must register in advanced and prepay.
