Taconic Opera 2014 Gala: Opera Goes to Hell, with Special Guest Renata Scotto

Taconic Opera, now in its seventeenth season in Westchester, will present an unusual fundraiser on Thursday, September 18, 2014, in White Plains at the CV Rich Mansion, 305 Ridgeway.  The Gala’s theme, Opera Goes to Hell, will take you on an infernal journey into perdition. The event includes a sumptuous meal and an opportunity to meet Taconic Opera’s top operatic artists who will take you on a thrilling musical voyage into the Netherworld of some of the world’s most famous operas.

The special guest of the evening will be the famous international opera diva, Renata Scotto.  Honorees of the event are:  David and Barbara Bender, the co-founders of Career Bridges, an organization that helps young opera singers bridge the gap between education and career; Ann Fabrizio, Deputy Director of Development and Communication, ArtsWestchester; and Irene Herz, past president of arts and service organization boards.

All proceeds support Taconic Opera’s 2014-2015 season: Verdi’s Falstaff in October 2014, Verdi’s La Traviata in March 2015, and Dan Montez’s oratorio, Daniel, in May 2015. Full details are found on the company’s website.  Attendance at the event will be by a partially tax deductible donation: Gold $250; Silver, $200; Bronze $150. Start time: 7:00 pm. Tickets and reservations can be arranged online at www.taconicopera.org or by calling 1-855-886-7372.  Parking is plentiful and the venue is handicap accessible.
