Sunday Stories: A Civil War Series


See the past come to life with performances by expert storytellers Vienna Carroll and Keith Johnston. This performance focuses on Frederick Douglass, Freedman and Abolitionist. Performances at 1 & 3 pm. 30 minutes. This series uses the artwork of Red Grooms and the history of Westchester as catalysts for these stories explore the contributions of African-Americans during the Civil War. Stories are based on the 19th century African American community in Westchester, known as “The Hills.” Vienna and Keith will use music, drama, and facilitated discussion to provide a rich cultural exchange.
