Spanning the Centuries . . . 1750 – 1900: Hoff-Barthelson’s Week-long Festival of Music of the Classical and Romantic Periods Begins March 5

Spanning the Centuries . . . 1750-1900, Hoff-Barthelson Music School’s week-long Festival featuring the music of the Classical and Romantic periods, will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016, through Saturday, March 12, 2016. Performances occurring during the Festival will include student solo recitals, chamber ensembles, the Festival Orchestra, Symphonette, Chamber Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Flute Clubs, Beginner and Junior Voices, Chamber Choir and Suzuki Strings.

Performances at Community Unitarian Universalist Congregation:
On Saturday, March 5, and Sunday, March 6, 2016, at 7:00 pm, the Festival Orchestra will perform Mendelssohn’s The Hebrides Overture under the direction of Jun Nakabayashi at the Community Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 468 Rosedale Avenue, White Plains. The Beginner and Junior Voices, Chamber Choir, Flute Clubs and Wind Ensemble will also perform on the March 5th concert. The Suzuki Strings, Symphonette and Chamber Orchestra will share the March 6th concert with the Festival Orchestra. Admission is a suggested donation of $15.

Performances at Hoff-Barthelson Music School:
Student soloists and ensembles can be heard on recitals held at the Music School, 25 School Lane, Scarsdale, on Saturday, March 5, at 2:00 and 4:00 pm; Thursday, March 10, at 6:15 and 8:00 pm; Friday, March 11, at 6:15 and 8:00 pm; and Saturday, March 12, at 2:00, 4:00 and 7:30 pm. These recitals are free of charge and open to the public.

Special All-Beethoven Performance at Hoff-Barthelson Music School – HB Cello Virtuosi:
In addition to the student recitals, a special event, the HB Cello Virtuosi, featuring the School’s remarkable cello faculty, has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at 7:00 pm in the School’s Auditorium. Participating faculty members Michael Finckel, Adam Grabois, Nicole Johnson, Erich Schoen-René, Peter Seidenberg and Frederick Zlotkin will perform an all-Beethoven recital – an event not to be missed!
