SLOW ART DAY at HVCCA

SLOW ART DAY at HVCCA | April 12th 2014

Slow Art Day is a worldwide celebration of art that encourages people to look at art SLOWLY – and thereby experience art in a new way.

One day each year – April 12th in 2014 – people all over the world visit local museums and galleries to look at art slowly. Participants look at works of art for 10 minutes each and then meet together over lunch to talk about their experience. That’s it. Simple by design, the goal is to focus on the art and the art of seeing.

Join us at the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art for an in depth discussion of 10 works from our current exhibition Art at the Core.  Continue the conversation in the warm and inviting casual tavern atmosphere of Birdsall House (970 Main Street, Peekskill), a gourmet farm-to-table dining and craft beer restaurant in the heart of downtown Peekskill.

For Slow Art Day, Admission to the HVCCA and the tour are complimentary.
