She Sings of Rivers with Yolanda F. Johnson

Join lyric Soprano Yolanda F. Johnson for an afternoon of song inspired by rivers and water. Johnson has performed opera, concert, and sacred music nationally and internationally. An active recitalist and lecturer, she is currently working on a children’s opera. At this performance, selections will include “Clear Water” by Nadine Shanti, spirituals, and a special arrangement of “Shenandoah,” created exclusively for this performance. Accompanied by Christ Funke on guitar.

This selection of river-themed song is informed by “Maya Lin: A River Is a Drawing,” a groundbreaking exhibition that focuses on the environment and ecology of the Hudson River. Experience this series of new works and ambitious site-specific installations that invites visitors to interact with their surroundings. #HRMMayaLin #MayaLin
