Reuben Wilson Organ Quartet with special guest Ray Blue

On Friday, August 28^th Roscoe’s Room welcomes The Legendary Reuben Wilson Organ Quartet with special guest Ray Blue on sax. Two sets, 7:30 pm and 9 pm; $10 cover. A limited menu will be available after 7 pm, so please make reservations with us earlier if you plan to dine. Reuben Wilson was one of many soul-jazz organists to emerge in the late ’60s, but he was one of only a handful to be signed to Blue Note. Between 1968 and 1971, he recorded five sessions for the label; they were later rediscovered by a new generation of soul-jazz fans, becoming collector’s items within acid jazz and soul-jazz revivalist circles.
