READ 650: High School

NRCA in partnership with the New Rochelle Public Library presents READ 650, the popular live reading series. READ 650’s mission is to promote writers and writing through live performances that celebrate the spoken word. It’s a literary forum for true personal stories—two pages and 650 words long, read aloud by the writer before an audience. This month the topic is High School. A return to your fondest—or most harrowing—memories with personal stories about marching band or mean girls, bus rides or best friends, homeroom or home grown. The cafeteria, the pop quiz, the field trip, the school play, the twenty year reunion—we’ll hear about those wonderful and awful days—from algebra to zits. Come for the stories and stay for the wine and cheese reception to follow. Free and open to the public, thanks to the support of the New Rochelle Council on the Arts and the New Rochelle Public Library.
