POSTPONED INDEFINITELY Premiere of Words Into Music by Pamela Sklar
Pamela Sklar’s Words into Music will be presented in a free, public world-premiere performance on Saturday, June 13th at 2:00 PM, at St Paul’s Church National Historic Site, 897 S Columbus Ave, Mt Vernon.
Co-featured artists are Pamela Sklar, composer/flute/bass flute, Native American flute, Jim Ferraiuolo, oboe/English horn/alto sax; and Enid Blount Press, clarinet/bass clarinet.
Awarded an ArtsWestchester Arts Initiative grant for Words Into Music, Ms. Sklar created this project with input from Mount Vernon community members by holding personal, individual talks with more than 40 community members. After the interviews were completed, Pamela took their words and turned them into music!
The musicians play many styles of music and have appeared internationally. Pamela Sklar has recorded/performed with many well-known artists including Aretha Franklin at the GRAMMY Awards. https://pamelasklar.com
