Port Chester: Melting Pot(s) Uniting our diverse communities through food, art, and clay

Port Chester: Melting Pot(s) is a community arts initiative that aims to unite the diverse communities of Port Chester NY, through food and clay. Clay Art Center and art activist Michael Strand have engaged over 1000 Port Chester residents in a shared art-making experience with intimate conversations about food and how it relates to our sense of well-being and place. These interactions will culminate in an exhibition that will create a portrait of Port Chester featuring ceramic “el-bowls,” collaborative recipes, and personal narratives captured from our community. The public is invited to celebrate this unique project and take home a catalog of recipes along with a community-made bowl at a tasting feast on November 7th, 2015 from 4-6pm.
