Photojournalism Exhibition-Our Rights Our Freedoms, Always: Celebrating Human Rights Through the Camera Lens

Our Rights Our Freedoms, Always seeks to illustrate the rights and freedoms that underpin the International Bill of Human Rights and to juxtapose these timeless rights and freedoms with the immediacy and vibrancy of current events.

2018 marks the 70th anniversary of the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which together with the International Covenant on Economic, Cultural and Social Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, both adopted by the UN in 1966, are referred to as the International Bill of Human Rights.  The UDHR attempted to set out, for the first time, fundamental human rights to be universally protected.

This exhibition features photography from the collection of the European Press Agency (EPA) that depict myriad freedoms and was curated by Maria Mann, Director of International Relations at the EPA, in collaboration with the United Nations Human Rights Office.
