Peekskill Black History Month Exhibition Opening Reception


HRHCare Hosts Black History Month Group Exhibition Featuring Peekskill Artists

Peekskill, NY – The HRHCare Jeannette J. Phillips Health Center has partnered with the Peekskill Arts Alliance to present a group exhibition featuring the work of Peekskill-area African-American artists in commemoration of Black History Month. The exhibition will run from February 3rd to 28th, with an opening reception at the Jeannette J. Phillips Health Center on Saturday the 3rd from 2 to 4 pm.
The exhibition will feature the work of  African-American artists: Lance Johnson, Toni Quest, Ocean Morisset, Jennifer Phillips, Lavinia Wiggins, Barry Mason, James Brooks, Bria Waterman, Evan Bishop, the Late Charles McGill and the Late Eugene Allen. The opening reception will also feature a program highlighting performances from jazz musicians Ray Blue, singer Vanessa Day, poet Kahlil Koromantee, and spoken word artist Cole Rivers. This event, the first of its kind in Peekskill, will be a celebration of black art and culture, drawing inspiration from artists of the Harlem Renaissance and beyond.

The event will be Free and  open to the public in the light-filled atrium of the HRHCare Jeannette J. Phillips Health Center, located at 1037 Main Street in Peekskill. The general gallery hours are Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 6 pm, Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, and Saturday from 8:30 am to 2 pm.
