Out of the Blue A Cappella Performance
Out Of The Blue, Britain’s all-male a capella sensation, will return to New Rochelle to perform a live concert at New Rochelle High School on Friday, March 24th at 7:30 pm. The group — whose viral videos have received over 1 million views on YouTube — is on a tour of the U.S. (This will be their only Westchester appearance.) Tickets for the New Rochelle performance cost $15 and are available at the door or in advance from www.nredfund.org. The performance is being sponsored by the New Rochelle Fund for Educational Excellence and the New Rochelle Council on the Arts.
Out Of The Blue comes to the U.S. from Oxford University. This student-run all-male a cappella group, founded in 2000, sings an eclectic mix of songs, focusing on covers of modern rock and pop hits. A sensation in England, their viral video hits have received over 13 million views on YouTube. Comprised of students from Oxford University and Oxford Brookes University, OOTB have won numerous competitions and to date have produced 14 studio albums. As part of their mission they regularly donate and create charity singles to benefit Helen & Douglas House, the world’s first children’s hospice. OOTB has a roster that changes every year; members are all accomplished in both academics and music. More info: http://www.ootboxford.com/

The New Rochelle Council on the Arts was created by the New Rochelle City Council in 1975 to stimulate and encourage the study and presentation of the performing and fine arts; for 40 years NRCA has worked to fulfill that mission by sponsoring art exhibitions, theatrical productions, dance recitals, film screenings, lectures, and concert series. In addition, NRCA has sponsored public art and helped to build relationships between the arts, the business community and city government.
