ORATORIO SOCIETY HOLDS OPEN REHEARSAL IN KATONAH

Westchester Oratorio Society will hold an open rehearsal on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:15 PM at the Katonah (NY) Village Library, a short walk from the Metro North station in the Garden Room where the organization holds its weekly Tuesday evening rehearsals throughout the season.

The group’s 2016-2017 Season – its tenth under the direction of Benjamin Niemczyk, begins with Go for Baroque, featuring selections by Handel, Bach, Pergolesi, Vivaldi, Purcell and Charpentier, with organist, James Kennerley on Saturday evening November 19, at the Bedford Presbyterian Church.

On Sunday afternoon, May 7, 2017 WOS will present Bach’s St. John Passion, at the South Salem Presbyterian Church. WOS’s Chamber Chorus offers additional singing opportunities throughout the year, including the Holiday Celebrations at historic Muscoot Farm on December 10  and other local venues old and new.

Prospective members are invited to join the group on the 20th to try out the venue, meet the membership, and learn more about singing with the Society. Competent singers in all voice parts with an ability to read music are welcome. For more information email westchesteroratorio@gmail.com, call 347-223-9303 or visit the group‘s website, www.westchesteroratorio.org .
