ArtsFest wraps up with a free Swing Dance Party on Library Green from 2:30 to 5:30 pm. Celebrate NRCA’s 40th anniversary and the centennial of composer Billy Strayhorn with live music by Glenn Crytzer’s New Yorkers, a vintage-style jazz ensemble, and dance lessons from The Rhythm Stompers, a collective of partner dancers showcasing styles from the Lindy Hop and Jitterbug to the Collegiate Shag and the Balboa.
Glenn Crytzer’s New Yorkers performs authentic styles of American Jazz performed prior to and during World War II. Glenn’s ensembles perform hundreds of dates each year and have been heard at festivals, dances, public concerts and private events from coast to coast, including Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Nights Swing, the Sun Valley Jazz Festival, the Medford Jazz Festival, the San Diego Traditional Jazz Festival, and more.
The Rhythm Stompers will be showcasing the marvelous styles of Swing with routines inspired by the masters of the swing era.
