La Traviata….like you’ve never experienced it before!

After its success in 2013 with a Lucia di Lammermoor sing-a-long and a sold-out crowd, Taconic Opera returns to White Plains with Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata in the same format. Because the concept was so popular last year, it had to be moved to a larger venue, The Play Group Stage, 1 North Broadway, White Plains, NY for a single performance on March 22, 2015 at 2:30 pm. It is an experience not to be missed at an affordable price, and in the convenience of central Westchester.

Conducted by the Music Director, Jun Nakabayashi, the orchestra and lead singers of Taconic Opera will perform a semi-staged production of La Traviata (orchestra, costumes, minimal sets) and the audience members, if they choose, can be part of the chorus of the opera. Music will be provided if you do not have your own La Traviata score. The roles of Violetta and Alfredo will be sung by young and catapulting stars of the opera firmament who will thrill the audience with their mastery of both the music and the dramatic acting of this Verdi classic. The Taconic Opera chorus will sit among the audience – which the conductor will face at the correct times – so that any willing audience member can feel like a true blue chorus member in a live opera.  The setting is intimate and the leads fully engage the audience to make them a part of the performance. It is a unique and unparalleled artistic experience that left audiences raving last season.

Tickets are $33, $25 for seniors and $15 for students.  Tickets can be obtained by calling 1-855-886-7372 or online at http://www.taconicopera.org.  Score reservations ($10 – optional) can be made by phone only.

There is no substitute for live opera, especially when performed in an intimate setting.
