Kuchipudi Dance Camp (1 week session)


As one of the eight major styles of Indian classical dance, Kuchipudi is a dance-drama artform that originated from the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Kuchipudi stems from theancient Hindu Sanskrit text of Natya Shastra (the science of dance) where varioussources estimate the art form was performed as early as the 10th century.Key aspects of Kuchipudi include quick rhythmic footwork, distinct postures, andexpression.In the modern era, Kuchipudi has gained popularity globally and has been an impactfulcontributor to the Indian performing arts.

This dance camp would be a perfect fit for students ages 5 and up. The purpose of this camp is to be able to devote more time into understanding the fundamentals of Indian classical dance and theory all while having fun! We’ll get to learn yoga techniques, complete special arts & crafts projects, play interactive games, and learn a new dance item all within our week together.

*A maximum of 10 students will be accepted.*

Cost: $200
Deposit required at time of registration.
Balance due by end of camp.
