Kite Festival

Enjoy kite-making and art workshops for all ages during this perennial favorite.  Enjoy FREE general admission as part of Yonkers Arts Weekend!

Schedule of Events:

• 12:30–4:30pm: Make your own bird kite to fly around in our Courtyard.
• 12:30pm: Planetarium Show
• 12:30–4:30pm: Create a visual representation of the movement of kites in the wind in a drip painting workshop.
• 1–4pm: Family Studio: Art
• 1:30–3:30pm: Come together to create images of the kite-filled sky in a drop-in workshop with Teresa Pereira.
• 2pm: Planetarium Show
• 3:30pm: Planetarium Show
• All day: Dance to DJ Delon.

Plus, Kites in Motion facilitates contests with exciting 1st-place prizes for winners!

• 1:30pm: Highest Angle Kite Contest (youth and adults)
• 2pm: 50 Yard Dash Contest (kids only)
• 2:30pm: Highest Angle Kite Contest (youth and adults)
• 3pm: 50 Yard Dash Contest (kids only)
• 4pm: Most Unusual Kite Contest (adults)

Admission and programs are free during Yonkers Arts Weekend. Planetarium shows additional cost.
