Irvington Stage Door – Season Debut featuring “BEGGARS RAIN” by Robert Firpo-Cappiello

ITHT returns with the second season of its highly-acclaimed Stage Door Series where new works in progress are presented in a relaxed setting without sets, costumes, or props. It’s all about the words at the Stage Door. Audiences become part of the process, participating in a Q&A with the playwright after each reading.

“BEGGARS RAIN” by Robert Firpo-Cappiello – About the play: A hobo known only as “Dooley” hops trains across the blasted landscape of Depression-era America, where unexpected friendships and brutal violence wait around each bend of the tracks. Pushed to his physical and emotional limits on his odyssey, Dooley finds the tragic hero in himself when he saves the life of a mysterious runaway.

Robert Firpo-Cappiello’s collaborations with playwright/lyricist Lisa Ferber, including Oh, Mister Cadhole!, An Evening with Molly Hadafew, and Are Not My Foibles Amusing? have been presented at Altered Stages, the Duplex, and the Brick Theatre. Robert is editor-in-chief of Budget Travel magazine (budgettravel.com) and an Emmy-nominated composer (The Guiding Light). He makes regular appearances on behalf of Budget Travel on PIX11 Morning News and the Weather Channel’s Wake Up With Al starring Al Roker, and made his show business debut at the age of five on WOR-TV’s Romper Room.
