Hudson Valley Music Club October Professional Concert

We are back!! The Hudson Valley Music Club is proud to announce our 97th season.  We are so fortunate to present fabulous music with our internationally acclaimed performers

On Monday, October 11, at 1:00 PM, the Hudson Valley Music Club will present a concert by the acclaimed violinist Itamar Zorman, with piano accompanist Adam Golka. He has performed for the club in the past and we are excited to welcome him back. Mr. Zorman’s program will include:

MOZART: Adagio in E flat major from Divertimento K.287

SCHUBERT: Fantasie in C major, D.934

MISSY MAZZOLI: Vespers for Violin

SCHULHOFF: Sonata no. 2 for Violin and Piano

Itamar Zorman is one of the most soulful, evocative artists of his generation, distinguished by his emotionally gripping performances and gift for musical storytelling. Since his emergence with the top prize at the 2011 International Tchaikovsky Competition, he has wowed audiences all over the world with breathtaking style, causing one critic to declare him a “young badass who’s not afraid of anything.” His “youthful intensity” and “achingly beautiful” sound shine through in every performance, earning him the title of the “virtuoso of emotions. Mr. Zorman has performed as a soloist with such orchestras as the Mariinsky Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic, New World Symphony, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, KBS Symphony Seoul, Frankfurt Radio Symphony, German Radio Philharmonic, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, Kremerata Baltica, RTE National Symphony Orchestra (Dublin) and American Symphony. He has worked with conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Zubin Mehta, Michael Tilson-Thomas among others. Described as a “poet of the violin”, Itamar Zorman is also a committed chamber player. Born in Tel-Aviv to a family of musicians, Mr. Zorman received his Master of Music from The Juilliard School. He is currently on faculty at the Eastman School of Music. He plays on a 1734 Guarneri del Gesù, from the collection of Yehuda Zisapel.

Polish-American pianist Adam Golka first performed all of Beethoven’s piano sonatas when he was 18 years old, and he considers the 32 masterpieces to have been his saving grace during the Covid crisis. “The reason I can’t stay away from Beethoven is that he put himself through absolute hell in an attempt to marry the rawest expressions of his subconscious to the unattainable ideals of his mind.” As public events in the United States re-opened, Adam was engaged by the Buffalo Philharmonic and Asheville Symphonies to film concertos by Bach, Mozart, Clara Schumann, Brahms and others for online release. Adam Golka is deeply indebted to his two main teachers, José Feghali, with whom he studied at Texas Christian University, and Leon Fleisher, with whom he worked as part of the Artist Diploma program at the Peabody Conservatory.

Individual membership is $50. Dual membership (living at the same address) is $75. Tickets at the door will be $15.

We have a new venue. All concerts will be held at the Irvington Presbyterian Church at 21 North Broadway, Irvington, NY 10533.  We are following a Covid protocol of being fully vaccinated and masked for all attendees with social distancing being observed.
