Hudson Valley Music Club May Mostly Morning Series Concert


The Mostly Morning Series will present a program of vocal and instrumental music. Samuel Hepler, bass-baritone, and Tom Jennings, piano, will perform songs by Vaughn Williams, Schubert and Rossini. Lila Ainsworth, cello, and Nely Burla, piano, will perform Franck’s Sonata in A major.

Mr. Hepler, a resident of New York City, is an active concert artist who has performed with many orchestras and choral organizations. He has performed on TV with “Live from Lincoln Center” and has recorded for Vox and other labels. He has been a soloist at the Irvington Presbyterian Church for nearly twenty years. Mr Jennings is a versatile pianist and composer who has performed in nearly every musical genre. He has performed with jazz and cabaret artists such as Branford Marsalis and Paquito D’Rivera, and accompanied numerous opera stars including Ben Heppner and Jerome Hines. He has composed published works for string quartet, jazz band and other ensembles. Since 1995 he has served as Music Director at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, the largest Protestant congregation in New York City.

Ms. Ainsworth has been a cellist in the Austin Symphony, Springfield Symphony (MA), Des Moines Metro Opera Orchestra, Godowsky Opera Orchestra,Virginia Beach Pops, AIMS Opera Orchestra in Austria and the Sienna Festival Orchestra in Italy. She served as principle cello of the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra. She has also worked as Educational Outreach consultant for the PBS broadcast “Live From Lincoln Center”. Presently, Lila devotes her time to teaching cello. Ms. Burla currently works as accompanist at Hoff-Barthelson Music School. She grew up in Ukraine in a family of musicians. Ms. Burla graduated with distinction from Donetsk State Conservatory (Ukraine) and received a Doctorate in Piano Performance from Saratov State Conservatory (Russia).
