“How Sweet The Sound”

In an in interactive program created and performed by Julia Breanetta Simpson with full musical accompaniment, the evolution of American music is traced through more than three centuries: from the time of Slavery to the “Jazz Age”.

The show encompasses dance and highlights the music of such notable American Composers as Scott Joplin, J. Rosamond Johnson and Thomas A. Dorsey. With spirituals and gospel hymns such as “Go Down Moses” and “Every Time I Feel The Spirit”, this musical history is as exciting and entertaining as it is educational.

“How Sweet The Sound” is suitable for audiences of all ages.
