Hoff-Barthelson Music School HB Artist Series presents Naomi Graf, viola

An Evening of Chamber Music featuring works by Bach, Mozart and Hindemith

Violist Naomi Graf is the featured artist for the 2015-2016 Hoff-Barthelson Music School HB Artist Series on Friday, March 4, at 8:00 p.m. at the Greenville Community Church, 270 Ardsley Road, Scarsdale.

Ms. Graf will be joined by fellow Hoff-Barthelson Music School faculty members, Rie Matsumoto, piano and Eriko Sato, violin in a program that includes J. S. Bach’s Sonata No. 1 in G Major for Viola and Piano; Mozart’s Kegelstatt Trio for Violin, Viola and Piano, KV 498; and the Sonata in F minor, for Viola and Piano Op. 120, No. 1 by Brahms.

Admission to the recital is $18, $15 for seniors (65+) and free of charge to HBMS students and students 18 years of age and younger. About Naomi Graf:
Naomi Graf performs a wide variety of programs as a chamber musician, recital soloist, and orchestral musician. She is a member of the faculty of Hoff-Barthelson Music School in Scarsdale, New York, where she is also the Director of Chamber Music (strings) and the Director of the Viola Clubs. Ms. Graf currently performs with the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra as well as in New York City in venues that include Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. She has performed as principal violist for the Connecticut Grand Opera Orchestra and at numerous festivals including Aspen, Banff and Meadowmount, and has recorded on the Hanssler Classic label as a member of the Rebel Baroque Orchestra.

Ms. Graf has served on the Board of Music’s Recreation, Ithaca, New York, and the New York Viola Society. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in viola performance from the Juilliard School of Music and a Master’s of Music degree from Yale University, School of Music. Her principal viola teachers include Lillian Fuchs, Paul Kantor, and Donald McInnes.
