Free Arts Day: Holiday Music, Holiday Craft

Sunday, December 8, 2013
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

A holiday gift from us to you, Museum admission is FREE today!  Join us for carolers and crafts.

Throughout the afternoon visitors enjoy the holiday attraction of Glenview, the Museum’s historic river home, that this year offers table-top and floor-to-ceiling trees in each of its rooms — Library, Parlor, and Sitting and Dining Rooms. In the Great Hall, a “Victorian Tree,” stands, decorated with the ornaments and keepsakes treasured by families at the turn of the 20th century. The Great Hall also hosts teens and adults, led by music director and performer Dan Koch, who sing holiday music throughout the afternoon. Families gather to make a winter wonderland snow globe ornaments.

On view: Industrial Sublime, the exhibition of 1940s paintings of New York’s bridges, buildings and epic waterfront as New York City reached super-star status.
