Family Day: Frohawk Two Feathers


Celebrate TWO new exhibitions that open in February at the Hudson River Museum.  Frohawk Two Feathers and Promoting the President are both featured on Family Day on Sunday, February 8 from 12 to 5 pm.  Music by the band Speakers of the House, poems read by social poet Marcus John, gallery tours and art projects and face painting fill the afternoon. Activities free with Museum admission.

 

Activity Schedule:

 Activities   1 – 4 pm

Art Project – Frohawk paints symbols on the faces in his portraits.  Create a self-portrait with your own symbols

Face Painting – Agostino Arts paints Frohawk’s symbols on your face!

Gallery Tours   1 & 3 pm

Families: Walk and talk in the galleries with Manager of Youth and Family Programs Katie Henry. Color and draw in the Exhibition Family Guide.

Adults: Look at the symbolism and composition in the portraits of imaginary soldiers and leaders by Frohawk Two Feathers and famous paintings of George Washington with Jennifer Patton, Director of Education.

Performance    4 pm

Join Teaching Artist in Residence, Marcus John, and his Yonkers-based band, Speakers of the House, for spoken stories and music: full percussion, keyboard, guitar, and vocals.

 

Planetarium Shows: New show: One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure at 12:30 pm for Age 5+.

The Sky Tonight at 2 pm for ages 8+

We Are Aliens at 3:30 pm for ages 8 +
