Early Screening of “The Post” at Jacob Burns Film Center

Can’t wait to see the Golden Globe Nominated film The Post? Well, the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville is one of two theaters in all of Westchester County with the limited release of the movie starting on January 5, 2018.

JBFC Board Member and legendary Oscar-winning filmmaker Steven Spielberg directs Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks in The Post, a thrilling drama about the unlikely partnership of Katharine Graham (Streep), the first female publisher of The Washington Post, and its volatile, driven editor Ben Bradlee (Hanks), as they come together with The New York Times to expose a massive cover-up of government secrets that spanned four decades and four U.S. Presidents. The two must overcome their differences as they risk their careers—and their very freedom—to bring long-buried truths to light. The Post marks the first time Steven Spielberg, Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks have collaborated on a project, and features a script by Liz Hannah (producer, Hitchcock/Truffaut) and Oscar winner Josh Singer (Spotlight). The acclaimed ensemble cast includes Alison Brie, Carrie Coon, David Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Tracy Letts, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Jesse Plemons, Matthew Rhys, Michael Stuhlbarg, Bradley Whitford, and Zach Woods.
