Description

Divergent Currents: The Ripple Effect of Japan on American Ceramic Art showcases sculpture and vessels by 16 nationally recognized artists that explore the assimilation, interpretation, and extrapolation of a Japanese aesthetic. The featured artists have been inspired by a Japanese aesthetic, but are not reliant upon it, resulting in an exhibition that educates the public about Japanese culture, and how it impacts Western artists as well as our contemporary culture.

Divergent Currents will take place from March 21-May 9, 2015 on Monday-Saturday from 10:00am-4:00pm

Opening reception: Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 6:00pm-9:00pm

This event is part of ARTSEE, a festival showcasing new works of art throughout Westchester County in celebration of ArtsWestchester’s 50th anniversary.
