David Amram & Friends

The Boston Globe described David Amram as a “Renaissance man of American music.” With his vast talent, experience, and passion, Amram’s compositions soar beyond typical standards of musical excellence.

Along with his friends, guitarist Leigh Cline, bassist David Woodhead, and percussionist Debashis Sinha, Amram delves into worlds of music unknown to and unattainable by many other jazz performers. Uniting all their abilities with a style influenced by world and folk music, they create jazz with such flavor and variability that it’s a wonder to behold.

David Amram & Friends formed for the Diaspora Film Festival, at which the award winning film “The Frontier Ghandi”, which Amram had composed, was premiering.  Their talent and passion for world music and jazz has kept them together and going strong ever since.
