Spring is just around the corner and Spring Crafts at Lyndhurst is coming with it! This popular semiannual event is held each year on the weekend before Mother’s Day and is located in the beautiful Hudson Valley, which National Geographic, Fodor’s and Time Magazine have all recently named one of the “Top Places to Visit” in the world.

Spring Crafts at Lyndhurst, April 29, 30, May 1, 2016, showcases over 275 modern American makers, artists, designers and craftspeople from across the country and is a celebration of all things handmade. These exceptional indie artists infuse each of their pieces with a distinctive creative vision. Spring Crafts at Lyndhurst offers a full day art and shopping experience for the entire family along the coast of the inspiringly beautiful Hudson River. Meet these talented emerging and seasoned makers who will be selling their exciting contemporary creations at Westchester County’s most beloved arts event and favorite shopping experience. Truly a destination event not to miss.

The show includes one-of-a-kind and limited edition creations in every material imaginable. Find earrings made of sterling silver and stingray; handbags made with airplane cables; scarves made of bamboo; necklaces made of meteorites; pens made of money; and bowls that look like cantaloupes, alongside contemporary craft pottery, wood furniture, handwoven fashions, bronze sculpture, blown glass objects and more. Visitors should also plan to visit the gourmet food and specialties section to fully experience hand-crafted delights.

Spring Crafts at Lyndhurst will have many special creative activities and interactive art experiences. Visitors may make their own Shibumi silk scarves with Patricia Disantis; dance to live music by The Lindsey Webster Band; watch and participate in craft demonstrations by potter Scott Martin and wood turner Don Hart; try your hand at over a hundred musical instruments in our interactive musical experience; eat in the expanded food court (now including delicious vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options); wander around the Sculpture Garden; taste and bring home yummy sweet or savory gourmet specialty foods; and entertain the kids with a variety of children’s activities including face painting, storytelling, balloon animals, stilt walkers and more!

For more than 30 years hundreds of thousands of people have enjoyed this semiannual cultural phenomenon that has become one of the most beloved arts festivals in the United States. Spring Crafts at Lyndhurst has raised almost four million dollars for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and has helped sustain the careers of thousands of artists from across the country.
