COPLAND HOUSE UNDERSCORED: Piano Trio by John Musto

Please join the internationally-acclaimed Music from Copland House ensemble for an exhilarating tour of award-winning composer John Musto’s kinetic musical world. Hailed by the American Record Guide for music that “overflows with dancing energy, nifty musical turns, and … wistful lyricism that erupts at unpredictable intervals unto playful outbursts of balletic merriment,” Musto’s work ranges across a vibrant urban landscape animated by a brash energy, languid, nocturnal poetry, and stylish, sophisticated allure. His fast-paced, eventful Piano Trio of 1998 shuttles between two extremes of character, mood, and texture. Long-lined, fervent melodies break out into dazzling, virtuoso riffs, while expressionist soliloquies may unexpectedly become sultry cabaret melodies.
