“The Secret Ingredient”

Bronxville, NY—Concordia Conservatory presents its Chamber Music Festival 2015 with a concert on May 16 at 7:30pm in the Sommer Center for the Performing Arts at Concordia College in Bronxville.  The concert is open to the public.

2015 marks the 15th season for the Chamber Music Festival. The May 16 concert presents “The Secret Ingredient. . . ” the premiere performance of a work composed by Matt Van Brink especially for seven Conservatory student chamber ensembles as well as works by Mozart, Purcell and others.

The Conservatory instrumentalists and vocalists performing on the May 16 concert include Albert Ai, Melissa Alexander, Annael Alvarez, Megan Barker Haley Barr, Justin Barr, Anna Bonnem, Sarah Bonnem, Amelia Bornmann, Maya Brinster, Noelle Butler, Abby Carter, Elizabeth Cioffi, Will Cioffi, Conor Coffey, Harry Colvin, Ian Cummings, Ava Delaney, Malachi Dube, Sam Dutton, Maya Engenheiro, Henriette Feldman, Leo Gretzinger, Rose Hanish, Samantha Ingram, David Janz, Jessica Kaufman, Keith Kreindler, Sabrina Latham, Daniel Le Blanc, Ben Livney, Nicholas Lombardi, Gabriel Morato, Natalie Morato, Mauricio Morato, Katie Nichols, Nick Politi, Kylie Regan, Mary Grace Reisman, Emma Sanchez, Oscar Shah, Stella Shah, Cassandra Sperry, Renz Toledo, Nico Tortorella, Michael Ventura and Holly Wemple,

This year, Concordia Conservatory offered student scholarships for the chamber music program made possible by the generosity of the Conservatory scholarship and outreach fund.  Concordia Conservatory is committed to the growth of the chamber music program to include access for all students.

About the Composer of “The Secret Ingredient”

MATT VAN BRINK is a composer, lyricist, pianist, accordionist and educator. He is the director of songwriting and composition at Concordia Conservatory in Bronxville, New York, which has commissioned many of his new works of chamber music and musical theater for its student performers. His concert works and arrangements, written for a wide variety of ensembles and performing forces, have been performed around the world. Van Brink studied compsition at Indiana University and Boston University, where he earned a doctorate. He lives in Brooklyn.
