Chip Shelton Peacetime Enselmble featuring Gino Rosario

On Sunday, August 23rd Roscoe’s Room welcomes The Chip Shelton PeaceTime Ensemble featuring Gulf Coast Piano Sensation, Gino Rosario. Two sets, 5 pm and 7 pm; $20 cover. A limited menu will be available after 7 pm, so please make reservations with us earlier if you plan to dine.

Bandleader Chip Shelton is a multi-instrumentalist who has recorded nine CDs. In addition to playing piccolo, end-blown, alto, bass and contrabass flutes Chip has added sopranino, soprano, alto and tenor saxes to his aresnal, along with clarinet and bass clarinet. With incredible talent and perseverance Chip has earned an undisputed reputation as one of the most renowned flutists in the world of jazz.

Playing with Chip will be Gino Rosaria. Born and raised in Curacao, Gino learned to speak four different languages and play many different kinds of music, including Jazz, Latin, and Classical genres. Gino started performing on a regular basis in his early teens and moved to the US in 2003 to study music under the world renowned Daisy De Luca Jaffe. In 2009, he graduated with a Master’s degree in Classical Music Performance. Gino then started taking private Jazz lessons with touring artist David Shelander. Today Gino performs or does studio work on a regular basis with some of the best musicians around, including recording artist Danny Clay who frequently tours with Tyler Perry and Steve Harvey, 2010 Award winner for best Jazz clarinet player Tim Laughlin, touring artists Kim Scott, Award winning Jazz guitarist Eric Essix, and touring drummer PJ Spraggins.
